The PrecastX mobile app is your primary tool for managing devices in the field. This guide covers installation and initial setup.

Required Features

• Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.0)
• Internet connection (WiFi or cellular)
• Location services (required for Bluetooth scanning on Android)
• Camera and gallery access
• Notifications (optional)

Initial Setup

Step 1: Open the App

After installation, tap the PrecastX icon to launch the app.

Step 2: Sign In

1. Tap Sign In
2. Enter your email address
3. Enter your password
4. Tap Continue

Step 3: Grant Permissions

The app will request several permissions. All are required for proper operation:

Permission	Why It's Needed
Bluetooth	Communicate with sensor devices
Location	Required by Android for Bluetooth scanning
Notifications	Receive alerts about your devices
Camera (optional)	Scan QR codes for quick device pairing

Home Screen Overview

After setup, you'll land on the home screen with these sections:

Devices Tab

• View all your team's devices
• See which devices are nearby (via Bluetooth)
• Connect to devices for configuration

Sessions Tab

• Start new recording sessions
• View active sessions
• Access session history

Data Tab

• View live temperature graphs
• Browse historical data
• Export data for reports

Settings Tab

• Account management
• Notification preferences
• App preferences
• Help and support

Offline Mode

The app works offline with limited functionality:

Available Offline:

• View previously synced device list
• Start recording sessions (data stored locally)
• View cached session data

Requires Internet:

• Sign in (first time)
• Sync new data to cloud
• View web dashboard
• Receive push notifications
